There's no harm to getting botox after or before laser treatments. I don't think the botox will speed your recovery at all. There will be an additional benefit of relaxing those dynamic lines. Topical PRP has been shown to speed recovery for laser resurfacing.
There is no specific reason why these treatments cannot be administered simultaneously, though it would not necessarily speed up the process. In our practice, we combine Fractora (or Morpheus8) with lasers like CO2, Erbium or Fraxel to address multiple layers of the skin, both the deep and the superficial, in a single session to get both tightening and brightening results. There are numerous non-surgical treatment options available for skin tightening. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist to develop a treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer
Very good question. These two procedures actually work quite well together as long as the Botox is administered last to avoid spreading the medication outside the treatment area. However, I would not necessarily say Botox speeds up the Fractora process. Fractora uses radiofrequency energy to tighten the skin from within. Botox works by relaxing the muscles that form wrinkles in the upper face. While they are not necessarily synergistic, they are certainly complementary and can offer excellent results
There would be no problem having a Botox treatment to an area just treated with Fractora, but I do not think that Botox would have any effect on the healing process or results from the Fractora. Both treatments can help to reduce certain lines and wrinkles, so it is possible that doing both treatments could produce an added benefit to some wrinkles.
Thank you for your question. Fractora, before or after, will not affect your ability to get Botox. Both treatments will help to reduce the appearance of your wrinkles so getting both can enhance your results.
Hi Ockyzpur,In cases where we have two procedures in a single appointment, we like to do Botox last. Botox would not have a healing effect on the laser treatment and vice versa. If the laser treatment was done prior to Botox, it might help since the lines and wrinkles won't be as pronounced. All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong...
Hello and thank you for your question. Although rare, Botox can travel downwards into the eye muscles when injected in the glabella and cause a droopy eyelid. A photo would be best to determine if this is the case, or if you just have a heavy brow from too much Botox. Unfortunately if ei...
I appreciate your question, but I assure you that the side effects you are describing are not likely linked to your treatments. Botox effects only last for three to four months, so even if some of your symptoms could be attributed to this medication, you would no longer be experiencing them at...
I generally recommend that you avoid any strenuous activity and keep your head elevated for the first 4 hours after a Botox treatment. In addition, I recommend no rubbing or touching of the area for the same amount of time. You should be fine at this point to do whatever you want to your f...
It does sound like you had an allergic reaction to a substance during your treatment. If you have never had these symptoms after a Botox treatment before, it may be the doctor’s office used an ingredient in their cleansing process that caused the hives and itching. Fortunately, it sounds like t...
