The Botulinum Toxin (Dysport or Botox) should kick in and start working by 2 weeks, If you have significant muscle activity you should contact your physician for a top off.
The results after Botox Cosmetic treatment may be seen within a few days. Wrinkle improvement continues with the maximum effect after a couple weeks. Touch-up treatments may be necessary, which are generally only given after 2 weeks.
Depending on what study you read, the maximum effect of botox could take two to even more weeks after injection. If you have significant activity after ten days I doubt you will suddenly get improvement beyond what you have. You might have needed more units than what you received, but it's betteer to be conservative and add more later than to put in too much initially.
Generally an experienced injector will advise you that the 11 line may or may not improve to your satisfaction with the BOTOX treatment. They may prepare you for the possible need for additional treatment like filler to help these lines. They will also recommend a dose of BOTOX they think is likely to improve the line. However, less reputable offices my not give you this type of preparation or not use a dose of BOTOX necessary. Assume the office is good, follow up with your doctor and see what they have to recommend at this point.
Your ability to frown and make vertical lines between your eyebrows should be markedly reduced at this stage of the game. You should re-visit your physician and show your result. I will routinely check my patients 10-14 days after a Botox treatment to ensure an adequate response. I hope this is helpful for you.
It depends on what area was treated. If you are treating the glabella to eliminate the frown completely, you may need more botox if you are still able to frown after 10 days.
Wait 14 days, then if your 11 is still there, go back to the doctor who injected you (you may need more). I have my new patients come back after 2 weeks for this very reason. Everybody is different, and sometimes it takes a touch up to get it perfect.
NO! You need a touch up treatment. Call the injecting doctor to have this done. In my experience if my patient sees no response in 1 week than I re inject. From MIAMI Dr. B
The most common reason for a poor response to Botox and Dysport is under-dosing. The FDA recommended doses are often inadequate for men and even for women with deep, etched-in frown lines. I routinely see first time Botox patients after 2 weeks (when the maximum effect can be appreciated) in case I miss- judged the muscle strength and need to add more. In some cases, the Botox DID work, but sun damage caused the lines to be etched in and a little Restylane can top off the job. I naturally assume you went to an experienced, reputable core provider who uses legitimate Botox and who uses it frequently enough that the Botox is not old and less potent.
If Botox is Fresh (full activity), proper concentration (undiluted) and administered properly you should HAVE seen its full effects by 5-7 days after administration. Poor or absent activity can be due to a failure of one or all of the above. Such as old / dilute / fake or gray market Botox (less active) being improperly injected. You should go back to your injector, hopefully a Plastic Surgeon / Dermatologist, and ask for the reason.
Botox cannot be removed, but the effects will wear off anyways in 2 to 4 months after the injections.
Thank you for your question 6741 anon. I understand your concern. Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. When injected into the skin Botox will relax the muscles and smoothen out the overlying wrinkles. The most common areas of treatment are in ...
Sometimes certain lines will be more prominent after BOTOX while other lines are reduced. A refinement should be done to improve results as you age and continue treatment. You should always choose a physician who specializes in injecting BOTOX because treatments should be customized to your...
