Botox into the chin or mentalis muscle can help with dimpling of the chin and decrease the pebbled appearance of the chin. Depending of the direction of the muscle pull it can also subtly alter the chin shape.
If your chin is perfectly symmetrical at rest, and if it becomes uneven with smiling, it may be due to asymmetrical movement of your mentalis muscle. In that regard, locally paralyzing your mentalis muscle with perhaps 12 units of Botox may lead to a more symmetrical chin appearance with smiling. If you like, consider asking your question again with static and dynamic photos. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr Joseph
Hi!This is a great question! Some botox in the chin muscle (called the mentalis) would help to smooth out your chin and correct any asymmetries. Starting conservatively with some chin tox would be a great option for you, and would help achieve your goals! As always, an in-depth, in-person consultation is required for definitive answers.Best,Eleni Sgantzos, PA-C
