I am 22 yrs old, 135 lb. I’ve had this noticeable set of dents/dimples on my left buttcheek for as long as I can remember & it started bothering me now since I’ve gained weight & it has become more noticeable. These dents show more when flexing but also shows when I’m walking or simply standing. When I was younger (4-6yrs old), vaccinations were given to us on the butt. Would this had caused the dent? What are my options to fix this deformation? What is the price range?

Dear Maria,Your situation can be approved by scar release through a couple of small incisions.   Liposuction can be performed to obtain fat for grafting. The fat can be typically obtained from the abdomen and/or waist.  This will accentuate your buttocks shape.  The obtained fat can be placed in the small incision used for the scar release.  I would advocate that you need a little more volume to the left buttocks as well to restore symmetry.  Price varies but a custom quote can be generated with a consultation.  Best wishes

You would likely benefit from fat transfer to the area of dents on your buttocks.  The underlying fibrous bands or scar tissue should be released before the fat is added to restore volume. That area should be overcorrected to account for the approximately 40% of fat cells that will not survive long term.  If you want to increase the overall size of your buttocks then fat can be transferred throughout to add volume.  I recommend you see some board-certified plastic surgeons in your area for an in person consultation.  They can help you decide which procedure is best for you and you can determine if they are the right surgeon for you.

Judging from your photo, this may be one instance where fat grahting could work very well. You may need release of some of the tethering bands of underlying scar tissue and placement of fat to not only pump up this area but to prevent the scar tissue bands from reforming. If in person this area is much larger than it appears in the photograph  then buttock implants may serve you better. Glad to be of help.
