The dimples create a dent that goes across my butt when I squeeze my butt (looks like I'm wearing panties too tight). Dents are especially prominent when I squeeze my butt or do any glute focused exercises such as squats. I don't know what it is exactly and I've always had it since I was little. I've been doing butt strengthening and toning exercises but I never see an improvement. Is there any way to fix these dimples and dips without getting butt injections?

Answer: Indents Dear Anne2018,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination, but based on your photos, it is likely that this will improve a lot with fat transfer. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Fix butt dimples? I have come across this several times before. It is likely from excessive pressure across the butt cheeks during the fetal growth stages, possibly from the umbilical cord. In the past i have had good success using buttock implants to kind of pop the indents outward. Fat grafting is another possibility but very unreliable, unpredictable and likely not permanent in this area that typically has subcutaneous fibrosis (scar tissue under the skin). Glad to help.
