You need to shave off your beard, especially when these areas are critical areas for tightening, i.e. jawline, neck, upper lip.
I would recommend that you shave your beard the night before your procedure. It's extremely important that your skin has complete contact with the transducer. I have seen thermage cause burns in cases that the contact has been incomplete.
Thank you for your question. A picture would have been helpful. You will have to shave your beard for either Ultherapy or Thermage.Ultherapy is ideal as it is FDA cleared to tighten the skin and lift the mid and lower face.Best,Karamanoukian
Hello. I believe that Ultherapy would be of benefit to you. It is the only device available that provides not only skin tightening but skin lifting. I agree that the beard may decrease the ability of the physician to achieve full contact between the transducer and the facial skin.
Thermage is one of the most popular skin tightening procedures for men in my office. There is no down time and the procedure is only mildly uncomfortable. For the best cosmetic results please consult a board certified dermatologist with a great deal of experience with Thermage.

In our office, we use the Ulthera lower face and neck lift to achieve tightening and rejuvenation of the jawline, jowls, lower face, and neck. The results are consistently positive in patients who wish to have a non surgical neck lift and facelift. Best, DR. KaramanoukianLos Angeles
I do not have personal experience but have been at a plastic surgical meeting where panel members noted that fat transfer to the face or hands can "melt" with RF devices such as Thermage.
Thermage can be used in any skin type and works very well for tightening and lifting, in the right candidates. I suggest seeing the advice of a cosmetic dermatologist with a lot of experience. I typically combine thermage with sculptra and microneedling and/or clear and brilliant...
