Thank you for your question and I am happy to let you know CoolSculpting is appropriate for all skin types and tones. The procedure works by delivering controlled cooling into the subcutaneous fat, crystallizing fat cells so they can be eliminated by the body. I encourage you to schedule a consultation with a board-certified dermatologist for an in-person assessment. While CoolSculpting works well on African-American skin, you need to be evaluated to determine whether CoolSculpting is the right choice for your for eliminating the fat. Good luck to you!
Coolsculpting doesn't really care what color your skin is. We all have the same fat. Coolsculpting will reduce the fat under the skin each time a treatment is performed. It is very consistent in its ability to do this, so patient satisfaction is extremely high, especially when patients follow our recommendation to have at least two treatments to each area that is a concern.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Quintessa
For small problem areas, you can use non-invasive methods like Coolsculpting with Vanquish ("Fire & Ice" Treatment) for fat reduction. You can achieve skin tightening if you combine this with radiofrequency treatments like truSculpt iD, Exilis Ultra or Venus Legacy. If you add in shock therapy treatments like ZWave and Cellutone, you can get even faster results, more improvement, and less risk of complications like nodules, swelling, neuropathy or paradoxical hyperplasia. Coolsculpting often takes a few treatments separated 8 to 12 weeks apart to get significant improvement. However, to get the most fat removal, contouring, skin tightening and definition, a VASER HI-DEF liposuction / liposculpture procedure with ThermiRF, Renuvion (J-Plasma), InMode BodyTite and fat grafting is your best bet. This will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a body contouring and hi-definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer.
I have not found race or gender to influence the success of CoolSculpting treatments. There is no reason why I would not expect good results from a CoolSculpting treatment on an African American woman who was a good candidate for the procedure.
CoolSculpting is a good alternative to liposuction if you have pinchable fat that cannot be lost with diet and exercise. It should not matter what ethnicity you are if you are a candidate for CoolSculpting physicially and medically. There are certain conditions which are contraindicated for CoolSculpting which would be discussed with you individually during your consultation and review of your medical history. One way to tell if you are a candidate is your skin laxity. Since you are young, chances are that you will not have a lot of excess skin after getting rid of the belly fat, but it is hard to tell without a photo. I hope that this helps.
CoolSculpting is absolutely safe for African American individuals! The CoolSculpting procedure gently freezes away unwanted fat cells in a natural and controlled way. Stubborn fat cells are permanently destroyed and subsequently eliminated through the body's natural metabolization process. The natural inflammation created also leads to skin tightening. I would recommend an in person consultation with a provider in your area so they are able to fully feel the skin/fat to make sure you are a good candidate for the procedure!
Absolutely! Coolsculpting is for those small stubborn areas no matter what your color of skin is. You may need more than one treatment but the effectiveness on the fat reduction with the Coolsculpting technology is the same whether you are African American or Caucasian.
Thank you for your question. CoolSculpting is an excellent treatment for stubborn belly fat. There is no difference in its effectiveness among different ethnicities. Depending on how much reduction in size a patient desires, certain areas may need to be treated with multiple cycles. CoolScupting is safe, effective, and has very high patient satisfaction. Please make sure to go to a Cool-certified provider for a consultation. Best of luck!
CoolSculpting does work and it works pretty much in all the women, (not as well in men who tend to have paradoxical hypertrophy of adipose tissue, meaning more fat grows in the area treated with CoolSculpting) but only when you have a very small area of fat that needs to be reduced in size. In the majority of patients who want to see a 50% Improvement, they must repeat the treatment five times. In the majority of patients stubborn fat should be treated with liposuction. Good luck from New York City
CoolSculpting is great at treating those stubborn areas of pinchable fat that refuses to go away with diet and or exercise. CoolSculpting works very well on all skin type. I recommend visiting a Cool certified practice for a consultation and treatment plan. All the best, Dr.Michon
