How safe is CoolSculpting on an area with varicose veins?

Hi , I made appointment with CoolSculpting . I’m planning to do my upper arm and also my banana rolls . But I’m worried about my b/rolls I got few varicose veins on those spots . Is that safe for me to do ? I did a lot research with CoolSculpting on varicose vein but couldn’t find answers . Please help me , thank you

Thank you for your question and I appreciate you sharing your concern. Varicose veins are not a contraindication for CoolSculpting treatments. However, I would find a board-certified dermatologist for your procedure with extensive experience in this body contouring procedure. Discuss your concerns and your medical history to ensure this treatment will be both safe and effective for you.

Even though CoolSculpting is a safe and non-invasive procedure, questions like yours are always appreciated as it shows that you are concerned with your health in addition to the physical results of your body shaping. While there is currently no evidence available that says CoolSculpting should not be done on areas with varicose veins, it would be best to discuss this with your doctor. They will examine the area and be able to let you know if they think you may be a potential candidate for CoolSculpting.

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. You may want to look into a body contouring procedure that combines liposuction with laser, radiofrequency (RF), and acoustic therapy to produce the best balance of fat reduction and skin tightening and smoothing for your body type and anatomy. We use a proprietary liposuction technique, combined with Emsculpt to help each patient reach his or her desired result. First off, all devices and instruments used are FDA-approved. We start your treatment with Emsculpt to help strengthen your abdominal muscles, augment your buttocks, and reduce any diastasis or abdominal muscle laxity that you may have. This is particularly important for patients who want convert a “round” abdomen to a “flat” abdomen. Emsculpt has been proven to be able to do this based on peer-reviewed research. We then use Smart / Laser Liposuction or VASER (ultrasound) to reduce dense, fibrous fat, and stimulate collagen formation; Radiofrequency-based skin tightening to maximize skin contraction; and Ultrasound, RF, or subcision (Z Wave, Venus, Cellfina) to treat cellulite, maximize fat reduction, and smooth out any irregularities postop. These procedures are usually performed in the office, with only local anesthesia.
