Follow up to original post. 20 units Botox received 12 days ago (between eyebrows and above each brow). To note, this is my 3rd experience with Botox, first time above brows, different clinician, first time injections hurt). 1st pic is 6 days post and 2nd is 12 days post. Will this ever get better? Anything I can do to speed this along?I was hoping to see some improvement at this point. Follow up with plastic surgeon scheduled for next week.

Answer: Bumps over brows after Botox. Bumps this long after Botox are NOT normal. Usually, injection of Botox in larger amounts (5-10 units) over the medial brows like you have would resolve within 30-60 minutes, if not less. You state it was also painful which can mean a few things: 1. the injector may have gone through the network of blood vessels in this area & caused some deep bruising or inflammation; 2. the needle may have impacted the periosteum by accident, which is painful, & caused inflammation at the site. If this was more recent I would have recommended icing the area 20 minutes on, 45 off. However, I do not think this will help now that you are almost two weeks out. You have good instincts, though, I recommended following up with your plastic surgeon just as you are doing. Please, let us know what he says.
