Can eMatrix cause you to breakout a bit afterwards?

I find that many skin resurfacing procedures can cause little whiteheads to break out on the face (I have seen this reaction with Fraxel, eMatrix and Peels). They are not true acne in my opinion, just a reaction to the irritation of some procedures. They do not tend to get painful or big like acne, so I highly recommend not picking at them. I don't think the Aquaphor is causing these, and I would continue to use it until the skin has healed. You can go back to your own products when the skin has healed completely. There are some products that are safe to use when your skin is inflamed, but you should run it by your provider first as some ingredients are more irritating after procedures and can lead to problems. Yes, quite normal for this to happen. Most dermatologist will prescribe a short course of abs if you have acne prone skin as the occlusion from Aquaphor can cause acne. This should settle in time. All the best, Dr Davin Lim
