Thank you for your question. The goal of the surgery is to maintain the sensation that you had prior to your surgery. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
This is a very good question, and one that I address with every augmentation consult. Of course, no plastic surgeon wants you to have any change in sensation. However, it common to have some temporary numbness after surgery or less commonly increased sensitivity. Again, usually this is temporary, but occasionally changes can be permanent. Good luck with your procedure!
No one can guarantee what kind of sensation you will have after breast surgery. Many women are unchanged, some are enhanced, and some feel less. A very few loose complete sensation.
Unfortunately no one on this or any other website will be able to adequately predict whether your breast sensation will remain the same, be decreased, or be enhanced after undergoing a breast augmentation.I would suggest you finda plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery andideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS)that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns withthat surgeon in person.Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California
No, you will have entirely new experience. It is not all about sensation which also will certainly be modified, but also new size will play a role. Both mind and senses interact to new physical form achieved with breast augmentation. Implants have no feeling and snsitivity of breasts could be enhanced or diminished from surgery. Thus no pediction can be made. It will be journey of discovery.
It is almost impossible to answer this question unfortunately due to the subjective nature of sensation/perception. That being said, TEMPORARY changes in sensation are common and expected; permanent changes (a subjective DECREASE) are common with very large augmentations, but permanent LOSS of sensation is thankfully rare (but of course can still happen). I hope this is helpful - good luck!
There is a low percentage rate of patients who lose sensation after breat augmentation surgery. There is also a risk of hyper-sensitivity. For example, some patients report numbness for a few months. My best suggestion: select your plastic surgeon carefully. Communicate your goals carefully and learn about the potential risks/complications associated with breast augmentation surgery; doing so will allow you to make an informed decision whether or not to proceed. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. After three years, you should not be concerned about any serious damage to the implant. If you become increasingly concerned as more time passes, please see your surgeon. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
Saline implants are very natural feeling and in some cases can feel just as natural as silicone implants. However, in very thin patients the implant feels watery and can show more ripples. In patients with a fair amount of breast tissue, it is difficult to tell in the look and feel the difference...
Thank you for your question. The best way to get a true idea of what size implant will help you to achieve your overall desired look is to schedule consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon and try on multiple sizer implants. At that point you will be able to make a...
Thank you for your question! Yes you are to young for breast implants. You have to be at least 18 years old for saline implants and 21 for gel. Best of luck!Dr Dhaval Patel Double Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Chicago Hoffman Estates Oak Brook
Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear about your current issues with your breast implants. I would make an appointment to speak with your surgeon so that they can examine you and help determine what may be happening. Though a muscle strain is common, implants can be pushed...
When the implants are in a sub muscular position they are moved around by action of the muscle. In the short term the skin feel most unusual and even discomfiting. In time it will resolve.
