2 yrs of Btx w good result at derm. 7.5 months ago at their rec. I rec’d under eye Btx to bad result (swelling/ laxity & fluid at eye/cheek junction. Swelling/ fluid mostly gone, but jelly roll on rt. side is blown out and flat. 3 derms and ophtho said baseline by 6 mos. Plas surg said muscles are so overstretched they are blown out like overstretched rubber band. Is it reasonable the muscles might still repair after this time? Anything to help muscles heal? To help asym. appearance? Please!
Answer: I recommend being patient. These muscle atrophy due to the Botox treatment. Treatment lasts 4 to 6 months. Muscle volume will only recover after the agent has worn off. It is not exactly like the muscle can be exercised to help build muscle tone and volume. Over time the muscle will build tone and volume. I strongly not doubling down with other treatment. Let you eyelid recover. I published a series of long term cases of upper eyelid ptosis after botox treatment. Once case took over a year to recover.

Answer: Addressing Complications and Recovery Options After Botox Treatment I'm sorry to hear about your experience. It sounds like you've been through a challenging situation. While Botox is typically expected to wear off in 3 to 6 months, individual experiences can vary, and sometimes the effects may linger longer, especially if there has been muscle overstretching. Here are a few steps you might consider: Consult a Specialist: Continue working with a board-certified dermatologist or a plastic surgeon who specializes in facial anatomy. They can provide personalized advice and explore potential treatments. Physical Therapy: Facial exercises or physical therapy might help in strengthening and toning the affected muscles. A specialist could guide you on specific exercises that might be beneficial. Non-Surgical Treatments: Options like microcurrent therapy or ultrasound treatments might help stimulate muscle activity and improve the appearance of the area over time. Patience and Monitoring: Sometimes, the best course of action is to give your body time to adjust and heal naturally. Regular follow-ups with your healthcare provider will help monitor progress. Camouflage Techniques: In the meantime, makeup techniques can help minimize the appearance of asymmetry. Remember, each case is unique, and a specialist's guidance will be crucial in determining the best approach for your situation. I hope you find a solution that brings you comfort and satisfaction. Best wishes,
