Thanks for the question. There's no age limit or ideal age for Liposuction. However, patients must be over 18 years of age.
In general, age is not a contraindication to surgery. You would need to be healthy as well as a good candidate for liposuction.
The most important factor is your health. If you are in good physical health and are able to obtain a medical clearance from your doctor you should be fine to have liposuction. *
Hello,Thank you for your questions. Age alone is not a barrier. What is important is your general health in relation to risk factors and the elasticity of your skin, or its ability to snap back after fat removal. Good luck!
you can have liposuction if you are medically cleared and you are a candidate. I suggest seeing an expert for a consultation. Best, Dr. Emer.
There is not an "age limit" for liposuction but depending on your body contours, you will likely have some skin laxity given your age. Be sure to discuss your concerns/expectations with your surgeon.Best, Dr. Luong
The simple answer to your question is yes however there is no absolute set age at which point people can or cannot have liposuction. As physicians we often if you age as someone's physiological state rather than chronological age.In other words if someone has a few extra years on them but is in good health their body is in better shape to handle surgical procedures then someone who may be younger but has multiple serious medical problems.I have performed liposuction on people in their 70s though the number of people in that age range who request this procedure is somewhat small.Whether this is appropriate or not or if you're a candidate and liposuction is warranted is something that's best discussed during an in person consultation.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
We worry more about health than calendar age, but at 79 most people's skin has lost so much elasticity that it would not contract adequately after Liposuction and thus would not be a good candidate.
Congratulations on you weight loss.At 5'4'', 220 lbs, your BMI is 37.8.Ideally, BMI should be less than 30. If you simply did liposuction now, the results would likely be very unsatisfactory. So get to the desired BMI. (Use either of the many available free BMI calculators on line) Then Opt f...
Thank you very much for your question and photographs. At one-month post-op, it is too soon to determine the full extent of your liposuction results. Some residual swelling is common, and this can take up to six months to fully resolve. I recommend you wait until several months have passed...
Hello and thanks for this excellent question. I have done this operation once or twice after BBL that I have personally performed. It is rare in my practice, but it does happen that some patients feel their buttock is too big or projects too much after BBL. In both cases I removed a very small...
That is the ultimate question. if your weight is back down to where you were when you initially had lipo, then it would be reasonable to expect a similar result. IF you are 50+ pounds heavier, the results will not be as satisfying as they once were.
Hi Stephy,Thanks for your question. I have never asked a patient to wear an adult diaper after liposuction. Typically most patients have drainage that lasts a day but some can last several days depending on how aggressive the liposuction was. I usually recommend just wearing feminine pads over t...
