Blood clot worry 7 weeks after liposuction of inner thighs

Question

I had liposuction of inner thighs, belly and sides about 7 1/2 weeks ago and noticed today there is a black and blue mark on back of upper part of calf. It looks and feels like a bruise size of quarter but no pain or swelling or lump. Could this be a blood clot? I have no idea when it appeared but has to of been in the last few days or I would have noticed before. I am concerned because of the recent surgery.

I assume you are worried about deep vein thrombosis in your calf. This classically presents as a generalised swelling of your calf and not as a defined bruise visible on the skin surface. Therefore, I don't think you need to worry. However, 7 1/2 weeks is about the right timepoint for a deep vein thrombosis to happen and you have had the kind of surgery that could put you at risk. Moreover, many deep vein thrombosis episodes can be "silent", ie. without the classical swollen calf, and if in doubt, a scan is advised. On balance however, from your description, I would be extremely surprised if a scan did show that you have deep vein thrombosis.
