Can you have Vaser lipo if you have recently been put on amitriptyline?

Question

Having gained weight after being subscribed mirtazapine 3 weeks (a total of 17lbs) I've tried hard to lose the weight which on thighs and lower abdomen. I've since changed meds and put on amitriptyline and have been taking this for 7 weeks and had a dose increase 3 weeks ago. I'm desperate to lose this excess &contacted a few places to query potential treatement. I have been told that i would need to be on the meds for 6months consistently before an anaesthetis would consider it. Is this true?

Vaser lipo can be done with #medication use. However, the main concern is the reason or condition the medication is being used for, and, if that is a #contraindication to the procedure. Therefore it really depends on the medication and reason of use.  Without seeing you in-person or knowing your #medical history , it's difficult to confirm if you are an ideal #candidate. Hence, it's best to begin with an in-person consultation with a board certified surgeon to learn more. That way you can discuss any of your concerns and if #vaser is right for you at this time.

I do not see any specific concerns about performing liposuction while on these  medications. Things for your surgeon to consider is whether you are stable enough from an emotional standpoint and also remembering that these medications have some moderate effect on the clearance of lidocaine that is used in the tumescent solution. Depression can actually improve after liposuction since your self image has a lot to do with how you feel. I have actually witnessed how many of my patients with depression were so pleased and happy after their procedure that  they were able to discontinue antidepressants and feel way better. Good luck

Any liposuction procedure including vaser Liposuction is suitable to treat difficult areas that is difficult to go with excercise and diet. 
Start with lifestyle modification followed by VASER Liposuction.
