Could my breast augmentation be reason for high levels of prolactin?

The level goes back to normal in the majority of cases however case reports with persistent levels have been described in literature.If your symptoms are not improving, I advise you to see an endocrinologist and perhaps discuss the matter with your surgeon.Best wishes

Hello @Monty13 thank you for your question. Galactorrhea is a rare complication after breast plastic surgery. Its cause is still unknown, although it is most likely that its appearance has a multiple factor origin. For this reason it is important to consult a specialist who can guide the process. Nowadays it is also known that implants can produce in some cases symptoms associated to inflammation in some people, this is called asia syndrome, which is still under study. Best wishes! it is unlikely that BA caused an increase in prolactin. You need to get an examination in order to determine the cause of the increase in prolactin level.

I'm sorry to hear of the hormone issues you are having. Your breast augmentation should not influence your prolactin levels. I encourage you to work with your GP to help balance your hormones.

No, your implants will not change you hormones, so further testing is needed to see why your levels are high.
