Should I be concerned if my surgeon contacted me asking to take down a question I posted on RealSelf?

Typically, the surgeon performing your surgery should be able to answer all of your questions and concerns, therefore they may feel that any of your questions should be directed to them. They have more specific information about your situation and therefore tend to be better equipped to respond.

I'm not sure I'd be concerned, but I don't see anything wrong with you posting a question and asking for insight. Perhaps your surgeon felt that he preferred knowing that your questions were answered fully and the post showed maybe they were not? I encourage you to speak with your surgeon about this.

I would be concerned!. It sounds like the surgeon is upset that you do not trust them despite the fact that you chose to have them perform your surgery. I would suggest getting a couple more consultations as you obviously still have doubts that you are getting the correct information. Make sure you are using a board certified surgeon that specializes in breast surgery.

Your surgeon will not be happy to read this post since you called him "childish." If you want to use this surgeon, please take your posts, including this one, down. You want to have a good relationship with your surgeon, and some surgeons have fragile egos.

I have read all your postings here on Real Self. What is of some concern is receiving a call or request to remove a very normal appearing review/posting from your newly chosen surgeon. This might be a blessing to you in that if the surgeon or his staff has so much free time to review postings this would be something from my view as a red flag. You are allowed to post, you are allowed to be nervous and ask questions. Also if you desire big C-D cup I think 325 might be to small and NEVER do sub glandular placement. Either sub pectoral or dual pane placement is acceptable. You have some thinking to do.

I cannot understand why a surgeon would want you to take down anything other than an unfavorable review (which is your right).

Your questions you post on real self regarding a breast aug. should not effect the surgeon you choose. It's normal to inquire about this procedure and get opinions and answers from others. This is something I personally wouldn't have done with one of my patients. I want them to feel comfortable about their procedure. Not sure why he would ask you to remove your post. He may have his own reasons for it.

Hi and welcome to our forum!This is more of a social issue than a medical issue. You are able to post almost anything on the internet. Apparently the doctor didn't want any potential unsolicited negative attention which might create unpredictable difficulties. I would need more information about your post to make a judgement call...Did you write anything negative? Your board certified plastic surgeon should be your first resource for information relating to your surgery as he / she has the most information after personal contact and in-person examination..Best wishes...

Plastic surgery that is cosmetic is not medically necessary and as such, the doctor and patient need to have a true partnership is getting to the best outcome. You should always ask all questions directly to your chosen doctor. A good one and his/her staff will get you the answers you need. Going online and naming the doctor can imply perhaps to him/her that you don't fully trust that doctor.
