e-Max veneers and cold drinks sensitivity? 5 weeks post op.

Greetings, I have had my permeant veneer placed around 5 weeks ago. Since then I cannot drink cold water. I have been using sensodyne toothpaste for 5 weeks now and nothing have changed. any ideas about what should I do. Many thanks.

Tooth sensitivity AFTER dental work is expected only a small degree and occurring less frequently with advanced dental materials. But, sensitivity still occurs and it sounds like you have tried simple solutions. If you have used only Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste, are not drinking sugar containing drinks and are not using additional bleeching gels erc, you should feel some improvement in a couple of weeks. Certain older generation Autocure or Dual cure dental cements can make a teeth temporarily sensitive but after one month, we would expect improvement. Occasionally, and more often if you had a temporary veneer,  chronic pulpitis can occur requiring endodontic treatment.    The key is DO NOT SUFFER too long and get the root canal treatment if indicated by your dentist.
