Hello. I am 21 years old male. I am suffering from hair loss from last 3 years. I went to the dermatologist as soon as I noticed receeding hairline. he gave me minoxidil 5% and told me to apply it twice daily, and I am still using it but it didn't help me retain my existing hairs. I had good amount of hairs when i started using minoxidil 5% and now my scalp is clearly visible. minoxidil is ineffective on my crown area also. plz suggest me some treatment that can help regrow hairs
Answer: Hair loss in young patients The most common cause of hair loss is genetic. Male pattern hair loss. You seem to have typical male pattern hair loss and hair tranplant can be a good option for you to regain your hair back. To slow down future hair loss you can start using minoxidil or propecia.

Answer: Progressive hair loss at 21 years old Minoxidil is not the first line of defense for male pattern hair loss. The vast majority of hair loss experts would recommend that you get started on Propecia (or generic finasteride). Low level laser therapy (LLLT) might also be effective in combination with Propecia/finasteride. Although 21 is quite young to consider a hair transplant, especially if your hair loss has been getting worse by the year, the photos suggest that perhaps you might be an exception to the rule. I would advise you to get 2 or 3 opinions from hair transplant surgeons with whom you could meet face to face to see they would consider you an appropriate candidate for surgery.
