I am unable to close my lip after a lip reduction done 36 hours ago. I have a slight bit of mouth protrusion to begin with but I was able to close my lips fully before the surgery. Was there excess tissue removed from my upper lip that caused both lips to be unable to be closed naturally now? I'm really worried it could lead to disfigurement or showing of the teeth.

Thank you for asking about your lip reduction.,No one can answer your questions this soon after surgery except possibly your own surgeon. You are swollen and things will continue to swell.I strongly suggest you turn to your own surgeon for support and advise.Always see a Board Certified Plastic...
Hello, large lips regardless of how they were caused can be reduced in size by lip reduction surgery. This involves removal of a partial portion of the lip with incisions hidden towards the inside of the lip. This is done under local anesthesia as a same day procedure. Thanks.
