The Profound works on the mid to deeper dermis allowing for collagen production and skin tightening. A CO2 laser work on the epidermis and upper dermis to help remove the top skin layers to decrease brown spots and stimulate collagen production to diminish fine lines and scars. The Profound can be used to treat the lower face and neck and a light fractional CO2 laser can be used on top of these treated areas. A normal fractional CO2 laser can be used around the eyes and forehead as these areas are not typically treated with profound.
Co2 and Profound are both very effective procedures. When I perform both procedures the transformation is more complete because with the co2 I can treat the eye area for full transformation. Profound is very effective at tightening neck area and face. Doing both procedures gives the patient a wonderful outcome.
