I have quite full lips although from the front it doesn’t look like it. I’m 20 so I don’t want to do something as invasive as a lip lift since my nose to lip length is quite standard. Can Botox in the lip muscle cause a protruded effect and bring forth the fullness? I have a strained smile with reduced teeth visibility and a flat top lip, so I’m guessing the muscle is too strong? Could Botox help or would it lower the lip altogether causing no teeth visible when speaking or smiling?
Answer: Lip filler Sometimes "better is the enemy of good enough". You have beautiful lips and you are correct in that the upper lip lift is not necessary. In order to create the effects that you want, a small amount of filler can be injected into the area called the white roll or lip border. Volbella is a good choice for this area.

Answer: Truth About Botox Lip Flip The Botox Lip Flip is more a marketing gimmick than it is an effective treatment. It does not work for everyone. Most people get it in combination with lip fillers and the improvement that is seen is mostly from the lip filler and not the Botox. If done by an inexperienced injector the risk of unwanted effects outweighs the benefits. Proceed with caution and make sure you are under the care of an experienced physician injector. Best wishes.

Answer: In my opinion, the so-called Botox lip flip is fake news. A video showing an injection is not the same as before and after photos showing results. There has been all sorts of breathy hype about the lip flip. However when you really study the results, the vast majority of images out there claiming to demonstrate the lip flip, also have had lip edge filler. I don't doubt that there may be the rare individual with just the right lip anatomy there if you plop a tiny bit of botox in just the right place in the cupid's bow, the lip edge "flips." It is simply that there is zero documentation of this effect in an actual patient. That has not stopped docs from jumping on the hype of the lip flip. I encourage you not to be taken in by this nonsense. Botox is really not helpful in the lip edge. It weakens the muscle that helps form a crisp lip edge. Many of the individuals who have had a so called lip flip demonstrate a flatted lip edge that actually looks older and not better. Buyer beware!

Answer: Botox / Xeomin / Dysport -- side effects, heavy forehead, excessive eye brow lifting or spock brow, ptosis or drooping eyelids botox doesn't help flip the lip, this is marketing hype. fillers and lip lifting is needed if you are looking for upper lift change. Answer: Chemical Lip Flip Wrinkle relaxer to the upper lip muscle (orbicularis oris) can give effective results if your muscle is inverting your top lip. The product can help to ‘flip’ the lip out, causing it to appear larger, and reduce gums/teeth showing as much. Dermal Filler is an option to enhance the fullness of the lip, this will give more dramatic results. I would recommend a consultation with an experienced injector so they can fully assess the area as photos can only show so much. Warm Regards, Dr Glenn Murray, Absolute Cosmetic Medicine
