When someone has breathing problems from a deviated nasal septum, it usually causes problems on one side of the nose not both. Occasionally, a septum can be s-shaped which can cause obstructive symptoms on both sides but this is somewhat rare. An otolaryngologist or facial plastic surgeon can answer this question with an examination. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph
Difficulty breathing as a child can have various causes, and a deviated septum is just one of them. Some other possible causes include allergies, asthma, respiratory infections, and structural abnormalities of the airways. It's best to see an ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist or a physician to have your symptoms evaluated and determine the underlying cause of your breathing difficulty. If a deviated septum is suspected, a physical examination, medical history, and imaging tests such as a CT scan may be recommended to confirm the diagnosis.Best of luck !
Do you have a deviated septum? you mentioned that you had difficulty breathing as a child. The question is, do you have difficulty breathing through the nose , now? The pictures you present cannot answer the question about your septum. If you have difficulty breathing through the nose consistently, particularly if it is more one-sided, then you may have a deviated septum. The final answer though could only be determined by an in person examination inside the nose by a nasal specialist.
