Flying for 3 hours after buttock implant surgery – how long should I wait before flying home?
Hi doctors, I’m planning to travel to Turkey for buttock implant surgery. My flight home is approximately 3 hours long, so I’m concerned about how I would manage sitting on the plane after surgery. How long after buttock implant surgery would you recommend waiting before taking a 3-hour flight? Is it possible to fly relatively soon after surgery if I use a special pillow that keeps pressure off the implants and stand up/walk frequently during the flight? I’m specifically asking about silicone buttock implants, not a BBL/fat transfer. I would also like to know whether sitting for three hours, even with frequent standing breaks, could increase the risk of implant displacement, wound opening, infection, or other complications, and what precautions you normally recommend to patients who have to fly home after this procedure. Thank you!
