When do the real results of a brow lift begin to show? Or a the results shown immediately after?

My brow lift was done 4 days ago, one eyebrow looks higher than the other, may this be due to swelling or are these the actual brow-lift results? when do the real results of a brow lift begin to show? or a the results shown immediately after? i'm a young 23 year old woman and my swelling is reducing significantly but the eyebrow seems to be in the same high place.

Dear sfamdan,Patience is the most important part of the recovery process. You probably have experienced swelling and bruising that will peak about two days after the surgery before gradually declining for about two weeks. The bruising will usually appear around the eyes rather than the forehead. The pain following a brow lift is usually minimal, but an uncomfortable tight feeling is common for the first few days. It is also normal for your scalp to be numb at first and then itchy or tingly as the sensation returns.Please schedule a follow-up appointment with your board certified facial plastic surgeon to receive the highest quality care, treatment and knowledge to answer your questions and concerns. Also, your spouse or family should speak with the office on your behalf to know the over-the-counter medications that the surgeon prefers you take to minimize the discomfort.

Thank you for your question.  You will see results immediately after a brow lift. There will be swelling in the first few weeks and final results will take 6 months.  Swelling can be asymmetrical.  Best wishes.

Hello.  Thank you for your question.  You should immediately be able to see a difference in brow position and the shape of the arch following a brow lift.  However, due to postoperative swelling, there may appear to be some asymmetry that should gradually resolve during the healing process, if the asymmetry was not present prior to the procedure.  This may take several weeks to months.  Some people have some natural asymmetry in their brow position related to differences in the tone of the muscles that raise or lower the brow.  If this is the case, the asymmetry may not be corrected by a brow lift procedure.  Be patient with the healing process and make your physician aware of your concerns. I would say that there normally is some immediate improvement after a brow lift, but the appearance in the first few weeks will not be the final result.  You are correct that swelling can affect the appearance, so as this swelling resolves, the results will gradually appear.  Sometimes both sides do not heal exactly the same, so it is possible that one side would look a bit different than the other.  If you have any concerns with your recovery, you should also contact your surgeon.

The results of a brow lift are often apparent immediately after surgery in that the position of the brows should  be seen as higher and more arched, However as post operative swelling begins the evenness and symmetry of the brows may be lost until the swelling subsides. The bottom line is you cannot judge the final result of any cosmetic procedure until the swelling form surgery is gone. For a browlift this can take as long a 6 months. For now be patient and follow up with your doctor per his instructins.

The results of a brow lift can be seen quite soon after the surgery. However, swelling is certainly present during the first few weeks so it would be too soon to make judgements in your case. Also, some asymmetry is naturally present in every person, perfect symmetry should never be expected. Having said all of that, be patient as hard as it is and follow up with your surgeon as scheduled.

Thank you for your inquiry. Although you can usually see the results of a brow lift not long after surgery, swelling may cause your eyebrows to look asymmetrical. The majority of the swelling is typically gone after 2 weeks.

Without photos, it is hard to give you much information.  In addition, you do not say what type of browlift you had.  At 4 days post-surgery, you will definitely have swelling which may make the eyebrows appear uneven. This swelling should reduce gradually.  If the eyebrows continue to appear uneven, you should share your concern with your plastic surgeon.  If you do not want to post public photos, you can send them by e-mail to our websites.
