Some doctors require this testing as we do in our office for the staff/OR as part of our standard protocol.  I suggest full testing prior to liposuction. I treat many HIV positive patients without any concerns.  It does not effect the outcome or the treatment.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Pre-operative testing prior to a laser liposuction procedure such as Slim Lipo varies from doctor to doctor. At our centers we often require some bloodwork for patients who are over 50. It is important to let your doctor know if you have any medical history since this will be an important part of your pre-operative history.

Prior to surgery the outpatient center phone assessment nurse takes your medical history.  In general, blood testing is per anesthesia protocol. HIV postive does not affect the outcome of the surgery.
