Had IPL treatments in the past. I had Palomar Icon Max G treatment and my face is swollen. Correlation with Hashimotos? (Photo)

Can thyroid disorders create more reactive skin with IPL? Also, if patient has facial hair can that create more swelling? What is advised? My face is so swollen it hurts and feels like a sinus infection.

Should I ice before IPL?

Yes, it is fine to ice the targeted areas before an IPL treatment. At my practice, we use a cooling gel applied beforehand as well as a cooling device that blows cold air to reduce pain and discomfort. We can also apply numbing topical creams if necessary.
