Bellafill complications/unevenness & lumps - what's the best treatment options?

For years, I have been warning regular readers of my columns to exercise more than a healthy dose of "buyer beware" when considering permanent fillers, such as silicone, alcamid and Bellafil, since permanent fillers can translate into long-term or permanent complications that can be very difficult to treat. Such complications can occur right after treatment, as appears to be the case here, or even five, ten or twenty or more years later. Sorry. The idea of permanent results is understandably enticing, but the potential permanent complications is disturbing and should serve as a warning alert to readers of this answer. As to treatment, I have had success in shrinking Bellafil bumps using a varying combinations and concentrations of intralesional anti-inflammatory agents. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. Best of luck.
