The recent trend is to use lower dose Accutane. I have been prescribing low dose Accutane ( 20 mg /day), for the last few years. This has the advantage of fewer side effects as dryness etc.... The only " drawback" is that it has to be used for a longer duration eg 12 months or more. In almost all cases, my patients have been very satisfied with the reduced dosage regimen.
Hi there,It can be given in a lower dose. However you will be on the medication longer but the benefit is that the side effects might not be as extreme.
