Necrosis of the belly button and sepsis or blood infection after tummy tuck?

I had a tummy tuck 4 weeks ago, since then I've had Necrosis of the belly button, and now Sepsis or a blood infection that I was treated for overnight in the hospital with antibiotics. My belly button still oozes. I know both of these are uncommon and so uncommon that I can find any info on how I should feel? Im sleeping a lot, I hurt a lot. I dont think its normal

I'm sorry to hear that you are suffering with this complication following your surgery. It's difficult to say without knowing more details of your case and being able to examine you exactly how you should be feeling. Sepsis can make you feel very sick and tired. The best thing to do is to have careful follow-up with ask your doctors these questions.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through his after your surgery. Necrosis and sepsis is extremely rare in these procedures if the correct patient's are selected and the procedure is done properly. However, this is a know risk with any surgery. It is absolutely normal to feel tired with your body fighting this infection. Think of how bad you feel with the flu. Your body is extremely stressed right now and it wears you down. Aggressive treatment with surgical washout of the infection, removal of the necrotic tissue and appropriate antibiotic therapy is imperative for a quick and safe recovery. Hang in there and be sure to be followed by your plastic surgeon very frequently during the process to ensure appropriate improvement over the next couple of weeks. Hang in there. Each day will get better with some days being worse than others. Be sure to hydrate yourself and make sure your have the appropriate caloric and protein intake to assure optimal healing potential.
