Hi - I've always had an upper lip with much less volume than my lower lip. I'm looking for options to make my lips more symmetrical - would I be a good candidate for lip fillers in my top lip? Thanks in advance for your advice!

This is a very typical situation. Many people have their lower lip fuller than their upper lip. Regardless, you can augment your upper lip to become fuller. You can use injectable fillers for your upper lip to see if you like this change. The HA filler injected into your upper lip would eventually go away. This is a first step. If you like the additional fullness of your upper lip, you can have a dermal implant that will provide a more lasting fullness of your upper lip. You may also want a upper lip lift that not only provides more of your upper lip showing but also provide the opportunity to fill out your upper lip via a dermal filler.

It appears that you corners are down and the distance between your nose and upper lip is great.  I recommend a lip lift.  A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners.  This is done in the office under local anesthesia, takes less than 1 hour to perform and costs $3,000.

The normal anatomy of lips is for the lower lip to be larger than the upper lip.  Making both lips the same size produces an unnatural appearance.  You could have some filler placed in your upper lip if you liked, but you should not make your upper lip the same size as your lower lip.
