Extra string from stitching bothering me. Is there anything I can to to help?

I have some extra, "string" at the end of my stitching on my breast augmentation. I'm 13 days post op- the extra string is irritating and causing a little red mark at the end of the Incsion. Is there anything I can do until I can contact my dr tomorrow morning? Is it ok to go with out a bra for a night? Maybe the rubbing is irritating it ..:

The "string" that you are referring to is from the remaining suture left in place from your procedure. Typically, these sutures are clipped about 7 days post-operatively at your follow up visit, unless otherwise decided by your surgeon. There are some surgeons who use absorbable sutures in which the body will absorb it; therefore, not requiring removal. My suggestion is to call your surgeon and explain that the remaining suture is causing irritation and until then place a small gauze or clean barrier between the string and your skin. I am sure that your plastic surgeon will want to trim the end of the suture.  The redness and irritation is very common typically after an absorbable suture is left protruding from the skin.I agree that covering it with a small gauze pad is your best option and waiting for an examination by your plastic surgeon.
