Bathing is fine after your treatment. Bruising can get worse if you drink alcohol so soon after your treatment. You may want to wait a couple of days, or longer if you have excessive bruising.
It should be okay to have a bath. For alcohol you can drink it but keep in mind that it can contribute to bruising so if you have bruising now, better to avoid drinking it until it's subsided.
Bathing or drinking after Botox administration will likely have no effect on the Botox results or side effects.
There is no restrictions on botox after it is injected. Patients can bathe, drink, work out, lay down, etc. It is inadviable to directly manipulate the area after injection with a facial, massage, chemical peel or LASER.
There are typically no restrictions on bathing or consuming alcohol following Botox treatments. There is no data that shows these activities have a negative effect on Botox treatments. I would recommend consultation with an experienced, board-certified physician for your Botox treatments.
Post care instructions for Botox include avoiding lying flat for 4 hours after the procedure, no massage of the injection sites, and no excercise until the next day. These instructions come directly from Allergan, the company that makes Botox. There is absolutely no reason to avoid a bath 28 hours later or even the same day for that matter. The same goes for alcohol. There is no effect from it on Botox so go ahead and have fun!
You can certainly bathe anytime after your botox injections. I would avoid an extremely warm bath/shower and avoid vigorous scrubbing of the face for the first day. "No alcohol rule" should be applied if bruising is present. If you do not have alcohol it wont affect your end result, just possible prolonging your bruising period.
I would probably wait about 3-4 hours after Botox to bathe, but alcohol is fine after the treatment. The reason for no alcohol is that it can thin the blood, but after the injection, it's OK. As for bathing, if its hot, it can potentially cause the Botox to spread. Also, it the needle holes are not closed, there is a very small risk of infection. Usually the precautions after Botox are not laying down or alcohol for 2-3 hours. You can bathe the same day of your injectables.
When you have a Botox treatment it is wise not to message your face for a few hours. Otherwise there are no restrictions. You can bathe and have an adult beverage after treatment without a problem.
Dear Marsha, Botox, good and bad, lasts between 3-4 months in the average individual. If patients receive injections on a regular basis, then effects have been seen up to 6 months (not common). Regardless, be careful with regard to sleeping as your eyes may not close all the way, get dry,...
Creases in the chin could be caused by attachments of the mentalis muscle to the skin and subcutaneous tissue. Botox and Dysport work great to improve these. Other creases could be from the marionette lines and pre jowl sulcus which can be improved with dermal fillers and a chin implant.
The horizontal line seen with smiling can be a natural part of a smile. Some patients after rhinoplasty will see this line occur and it typically disappears at month 3. For patients concerned about this line, botox can be used to soften the line. Fillers can also be used to help this area.
There is no specific contraindication to having a glass of wine the night before receiving Botox. Large quantities of alcohol or prolonged consumption will lead to bruising/bleeding complications, but occasional use will not. Relax and enjoy!
Yes, a dermatologist is a great choice when you are looking to have treatment with Botox. I would recommend choosing a board certified physician who has a great deal of experience, as this will help you obtain the best possible result. I hope this helps, and best of luck to you.
It can take up to two weeks for the Botox to take full effect, although before this time you'll probably notice some improvement. A follow up should be scheduled after about 2 weeks. Another treatment may be scheduled around 3-4 months, although it could be longer depending on how this first...
