Botox and Fillers for nasolabial folds? Suggestions? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question.  The best treatment to deal with your concerns would be with a hyaluronic acid filler.  For the Nasolabial folds, we tend to recommend either Restylane Defyne or Vollure.  We find that either will give you a significant but natural appearance.  The difference is that Vollure tends to last about 50% longer.   For some patients, we recommend also improving the contour of the cheeks.  This also helps the nasolabial fold appearance and is accomplished with the filler Voluma.  It is difficult to tell for sure, just from your photos, but you would probably do well with just a treatment to the nasolabial folds directly.  Your best next step is to consider a consultation with a cosmetic surgeon to learn about what treatment is right for you.

Can you have lower eye bags removed even if you're told you have thin skin? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Having thin skin makes getting fillers under the eyes more challenging.  However, it will have less of an impact on lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty).  From looking at your photos, it appears as if you would be a good candidate for a transconjunctival lower eyelid blepharoplasty (from the inside of the eyelid) to remove some of the excess fat.  I would recommend seeing a cosmetic surgeon who has a lot of experience in dealing with the eyelids.

Should I do surgery or fillers for my eyebags? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question.  This is a question that I hear every day.  The bottom line is that fillers and lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) both do a great job in helping lower eyelid bags depending on your anatomy.  To be specific about what I see in your photos..... you could benefit from either treatment but overall you would do best with lower eyelid surgery with a lighthanded removal of excess fat.

Eyes 2 completely different shapes and sizes. What can I do? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

It is difficult to tell for certain from the photos you provided, but it looks like you have some mild ptosis (drooping) of the left upper eyelid.  If this is the case, you might benefit from eyelid surgery to correct the drooping of the left upper eyelid.  The key is to have an evaluation by an oculoplastic surgeon or a cosmetic surgeon who has a lot of experience with eyelids.

Is there a procedure to fix my eye bags? Can it be covered by insurance? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question.  From your photos, it appears as if you have some extra fat and skin in your lower eyelids.  The best treatment for this would be surgery,  I'll provide a link and video that will give you some idea of what to expect with eyelid surgery.  Hope this helps.

Am I too young for blepharoplasty to correct eye symmetry in hooded eyes? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

You do appear to have some excess fullness of your upper eyelids.  This is often a family trait that has nothing to do with age.  From your photos, it looks like you would benefit from a light handed removal of some of the excess skin and fat from your upper eyelids.  This is performed under twilight sleep as an out patient.

I would suggest a consultation for a thorough in person evaluation and discussion about what options feel right to you.

What insight can you provide for bags under my eyes? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question.  You do have some excess fullness under your eyes.  From looking at the photos, it appears as if you would benefit from a lower eyelid blepharoplasty.  The surgery would be performed with a laser with a small incision on the inside of your eyelid.  Your upper eyelids look nice but if you would like a little less fullness that can be addressed with a conservative removal of skin and fat.  Both procedures could be performed at the same time.

The best way to move forward is to schedule a consultation.  Photos are helpful but they don't take the place of a good in person evaluation.  At that time you could learn what options are available and decide what feels right to you.

What to do excess skin upper eyelid when you’re 30? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

The appearance of excess upper eyelid skin occurs because of the aging changes that happen around the eye and brow.  From your photos, I would say that the most direct way to deal with this would be a light-handed upper blepharoplasty.

If you would like to deal with this without surgery you could be treated with some Botox to raise the brows and a little filler to add back the volume to your brow that is gradually changing with time.  Both of these treatments tend to lightly raise the brow which will improve the appearance of excess skin on your upper eyelids.

Will my puffy eye need some type of cosmetic surgery intervention? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for supplying a photo.  It appears as if you have true ptosis of the upper eyelid.  This can be corrected with surgery.  Your best bet is to see a physician who specializes in eyelid surgery as part of their practice.

Suggestions for improving my eyes? I’m 64

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

From your photos it appears as if you would benefit from some eyelid surgery.  For an exact answer you would need an in person consultation.  However, I suspect that you would benefit from upper eyelid surgery to repair your ptosis (droopy upper eyelids) along with some removal of excess skin and fat and the reestablishment of nice symmetric upper eyelid creases.  For your lower eyelids, some removal of excess fat would be helpful.

See a physician with a lot of experience in cosmetic eyelid surgery.

Brief Summary of my Amazing Experience with Dr. Swartz

I was referred to Dr. Nancy Swartz for a second opinion about a hernia in the orbital septum under my right eye. This defect was causing fat to protrude through the hernia and become visible under my skin. The septum of my other eye did not have a hernia, but I did have noticeable bags and puffiness. When I first met Dr. Swartz, I was immediately impressed with her knowledge and calm bedside manner. After her exam, she explained to me what she thought was going on and various options to correct it. But, since my case was unique, she requested that I also see her partner (Dr. Cohen) and then the two of them will consult with each other on the best plan to fix my problem. So, a few days later, I met with Dr. Cohen (who is equally nice and knowledgeable). He knew exactly what needed to be done because he has seen another case like mine. About an hour after that appointment, I got a phone call on what they recommended… a transconjunctival lower lid blepharoplasty. I had to go back for a third visit, to see Dr. Swartz again so that she can explain everything about the procedure in detail and answer all my questions. Dr. Swartz gave me her email address so that I could ask her any questions in the weeks and days prior to surgery. And, she even called me the afternoon before surgery to see if I had any last minute questions or concerns. The morning of surgery went very smooth. As the nurses were preparing me (placing the IV catheter, etc.) Dr. Swartz stopped in to chat with me again. I did not feel nervous because of her amazing bedside manner and calming personality. When they took me in to the surgery room, I saw that Dr. Cohen was also there. He assisted during surgery, and the two of them make an amazing team. I woke up with icepacks over my eyes. The nurse was talking to me and asking me questions about my comfort level, etc. After a few minutes I decided to look at myself in the mirror, and I could not believe the amazing job that Dr. Swartz did. The herniated fat under the one eye is completely gone. And the bags and puffiness under both eyes are also gone. But everything looks natural. My eyes look refreshed and I am no longer self-conscious about the herniated fat. Recovery went very well too. I had mild bruising and swelling that went away relatively fast. If anyone asks me about my eyes, I will be referring them all to see Dr. Swartz.

Dr Nancy Swartz is the best

I am turning 60 and wanted my eyes back. I met with Dr Swartz in May and was very impressed with her professional and informative demeanor. I left the office with an appointment in September. The day before the surgery I received a call from Dr Swartz. I was very impressed that she took the time to reach out and answer any questions. The day of the surgery was easy and calm. I am six days post surgery. I feel great (just a bit bored since you have to take it easy for a week ). I am a bit swollen and a tiny bit bruised. I get my stitches out in five days. I am very pleased with eyes so far an I know they will only get better

Dr.Nancy Swartz is the Best!!

I had been contemplating having an upper blepharoplasty for quite some time but was hesitant for several reasons. I was nervous about the procedure itself, the recovery process, the results, and the cost to name a few things. After a few friends had the procedure done and looking at their results I was sold on procedure. It was time for me to find the perfect surgeon for me. I knew that I wanted to go to a doctor who specialized in eyes (oculoplastic surgeon) and who had a lot of experience. I also had read about the benefits of a doctor who uses a laser during surgery as opposed to a scalpel because it can decrease bleeding and bruising which was important to me. After doing some research a came across Dr.Nancy Swartz. Everything about her fit my criteria so I scheduled an appointment. At me first visit I knew I had found the right place. Everyone in the office was so kind and helpful. When I met Dr.Swartz she was so personable and patient, ready to answer any questions I had. That day I decided I would take the plunge. So here I am, three days post-op and couldn't be more pleased. I met with Dr.Swartz three days before surgery so she could do a final eye exam to be sure everything looked good and to discuss and questions or concerns I had. The day of surgery was a breeze. The surgical center in Bala Cynwyd was very nice and everyone I encountered was fantastic. From entering to leaving I was there about two hours. Felt great day of, just a little groggy from the sedation during surgery. I truly can't say enough about Dr.Swartz and the team at the Surgical Center. I would do it again in a heart beat.

I had an amazing experience!

Dr. Swartz knows exactly what she is doing. She is extremely professional always gives u a great result. She notates where & how much Botox was injected. This way there is no guessing same awesome outcome time after time. I have been to another doctor closer to my house for Botox but she never keep record of where she injected product. Results varied. Now, I always take the 1 1/2 hr drive it’s worth it!

Extremely happy with results - highly recommend!

After doing extensive research, I decided to schedule a consultation for my under-eye hollowness with Dr. Swartz. I was very impressed with her background and accomplishments - and I'm happy to say that I absolutely made the right decision. She answered all of my questions and took the time to explain everything in an informative and caring manner. Dr. Swartz went over the procedure, the possible side effects, the healing process, as well as the results - so I knew exactly what to expect. We decided on filler and botox- neither of which I had experienced before. I scheduled the appointment and had the utmost confidence in Dr. Swartz. Thankfully, it was everything that I had hoped and more. She takes her time, has a calming demeanor, and makes sure that it looks perfect. I am beyond pleased with the results and would highly recommend Dr. Swartz to anyone who wants to look and feel their best!

The best of the best

I can't say enough wonderful things about both Dr. Cohen and Dr. Swartz. Through the years I have had Juvederm, Restylane and Botox treatments done by both doctors. Each time my results have been amazing and natural. The doctors are perfectionist and will never try and push treatments that they do not feel will leave you looking like your best self. I have also been on a skin care regimen using their own skin care line which I love. The doctors have become more like friends and not just my physicians. They will always take the time to give their honest and expert opinion without ever making me feel rushed. When you come to this practice you are not just a number. You really are treated like family. They really are the best of the best!
