Complications like infection, stitches “separating “delayed" healing? I am fascinated about the transformations in breast lift & augmentation I can see from pictures posted but terrifying is the fact how many ladies had bad luck during healing and ended up with worst scaring then expected . Can you please share some tips of how to avoid that , other then prescribed rest and avoiding blood thinning meds & supplements? Would the bigger implant be bigger risk ? Personal hygiene ( postpone showers or frequent showers)? Antibacterial ointment or just silicon based?
Answer: Wound healing delay Hello, thank you for your question. Wound healing and dehiscence can occur for a number of reasons and it varies from patient to patient. Factors that contribute to early stages of wound healing are, smoking, infection to the area, High BMI (body mass index ≥ 30), increasing activities before recommended, how much tension is on the incision and how well the incision is sutured and genetics on each person heals scars. Genetics, BMI and smoking are on the top of that list. We ask people to quit smoking at least 3 months beforehand. Higher BMI have higher risks overall with surgery and wound healing issues is one of them. Genetics affects how you heal your scars. I would speak to your Plastic Surgeon to express your concern. It is always a risk factor with any surgery. thankyou

Answer: Implants Avoid choosing large heavy implants and follow your surgeon's post operative instructions to get the best results. What products are applied onto the scars and when, and if showers are allowed are not depend upon how the incisions are closed.

Answer: Healing after surgery The best advice is to follow your surgeon's instructions after surgery. As with any surgery, it is best to avoid nicotine and tobacco 4 weeks prior and 6 weeks after surgery. Increase your hydration and protein intake after surgery. Avoid sun exposure for the first 6 months to a year after surgery. And use a silicone based scar cream to your incisions for the first year. Good luck!

Answer: Breast lift My best advice is to choose your surgeon carefully. A breast lift with implants is a tricky procedure that takes years of experience. Don't get hooked into shortcuts that don't give you the amount of lift required. You need to find that one out of ten surgeons that really know what they are doing. Research the various procedures so you understand what will be best for you

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear Adventurous695057, I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.
