I have a fat pad (hump) on the back of my neck that I am very self conscious about. It is actually is my whole neck, cannot see my collar bones and just makes my neck look short? It is my profile that i hate the most! Is smart lipo the best way to treat this area? How long is it until you see results? (I am getting married!) Also, in the future I am interested in BBL. Should this all be done at once to use the fat? ANY and ALL suggestions are appreciated!!!! Thank you!!
Answer: Posterior neck fat Posterior neck pad can be treated with Snart Lipo laser or Vaser ultrasound liposuction. This will remove the stubborn fat and tighten skin nicely. It can be done separately, under local to combined with other liposuction areas. Usually, a small amount of fat is removed and not needed for BBL. An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon who performs these procedures is recommended to confirm you are a candidate as well as discuss your options and expectations.

Answer: Liposuction candidate Dear Lindsey2891, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos it looks like you would benefit from liposuction. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Liposuction of the dorsocervical fat pad Any form of liposuction will do a nice job on this part of the body. Smart Liposuction has no advantage other than selling Liposuction over any other method. In regards to different types of liposuction the only variable that matters is who does the procedure I see no reason why you couldn’t do this at the same time as having your BBL. It will probably save you quite a bit of money to do it as a combined procedure. The dorsal cervical fat pad tends to show fairly immediate results after liposuction because it doesn’t swell that much but final results typically take six weeks to three months. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Treatment of buffalo hump Hi and welcome to our forum! A true "buffalo hump" is often seen in patients who suffer from Cushing's syndrome, a disorder of cortisol production. It may be caused by an adrenal tumor, lung tumor, or from chronic administration of steroid medications. Treatment of the underlying condition is required. A small "buffalo hump-like" fatty accumulation in the posterior neck may occur as the result of obesity. Weight loss may ameliorate the condition. If you are not obese, the fullness may represent a normal fat repository which would respond favorably to liposuction. The fat content of the neck mass is very small when compared to the amount transferred during BBL. The two procedures can be combined or performed separately. Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation, examination, and discussion. Best wishes...
