Do you increase your risk of forming capsular contracture when you have a revision surgery? I had implants and a lift, then a year later I had to have a second surgery to re-do the lift and have mesh put in. It’s been over 6 months and I think I may be forming a contracture on one side. so I was just curious if that second surgery increased my risk?

Answer: Do revision surgeries increase the risk of Capsular Contraction
You should have been offered biologic material known as acellular dermal matrix (ADM) like Strattice, not mesh, and it should have been offered after your first recurrence. Further, total capsulectomies via an inframammary incision is also important to diminish the risk of recurrence.
