I had botox for the first time. I requested to have a low dose so I could see if I liked it. I 12 units total. It seems like my eyebrows are farther from each other now and there is some sagging right at the center over my nose, creating a crease. It is not a huge deal, but if I go back, how can I avoid this? I can also still move my eyebrows and create a frowny face if I want to albeit, it is more difficult and slightly painful.
Answer: Botox It is expected that you would still have some movement of the injected area since the number of units injected was so low. Final results are seen from Botox two weeks after treatment. If you have passed that time frame, return to your injector for an evaluation. It sounds like a touch up would give you improvement.

Answer: Underdosing with Botox in the glabella area can lead to less than optimal results The recommended dose of Botox (Botulinum Toxin) for treating the glabella area, often referred to as the "11 lines" (the vertical lines between the eyebrows), typically 20units. The exact dose can vary based on individual factors, such as the patient's muscle strength, the severity of the lines, and the desired outcome. Underdosing with Botox in the glabella area can lead to less than optimal results or a shorter duration of effect. It's essential for both the patient and the injector to communicate openly about expectations and goals. If the initial dose appears to be underdosing, a follow-up appointment can be scheduled to assess the results and, if necessary, adjust the dose accordingly. The goal is to achieve a balance between the desired cosmetic improvement and maintaining a natural appearance. Ultimately, the appropriate dose of Botox for the glabella area should be determined by an experienced and qualified medical professional based on the individual patient's needs and characteristics. Hope that helps!...Lena

Answer: Botox dose and placement First rule of Botox: a lower dose does not equal more natural results. In actuality, lower doses actually look more unnatural because the muscles are not being treated fully and appropriately. Not only is dosing important, but it is also crucial to treat surrounding muscle groups to maintain facial balance and avoid "weird wrinkles" or asymmetry. For best results, schedule an appointment with your injector for a full-face consult and decide on a plan of care that works best for your face and your budget.
