Indented scars typically need to be surgically excised and meticulously repaired to eliminate the sunken appearance. There are maneuvers that can be performed to change the orientation of the scar if it crosses normal position of forehead lines. Indented scars can often be surgically improved by excising the scar and closing it again with a better contour. There will still be a scar, but the aim will be to make it better. Good scar management afterwards with silicone sheeting and scar massage will make your scar as good as possible. If the scar misbehaves at all, then steroid injections or laser treatments can be used to help it along.
