Can I Wear Contacts After Rhino?

Question

I have to wear contacts, and without them I can't really function. Obviously I can't wear them during or after surgery due to my eyes swelling etc, but when can I put them back in ? I also heard glasses are a no no. Thanks.

It is ok to wear your contacts after your surgery. Glasses are not recommended for 6 weeks after your procedure. They can be taped to the forehead if necessary to relive pressure on the nose. I would recommend following up with your surgeon, as he or she may have specific guidelines for you to follow. I hope this helps, and best of luck.

Contact lenses are permitted immediately after rhinoplasty. I permit my patients to wear glasses as soon as they find it comfortable.

in our practice, we allow patients to wear contacts 3 days after surgery and glasses 4 weeks later. hope that helps.

Contact lenses are fine to wear immediately after your rhinoplasty.  You are correct about glasses.  I request that my patients not wear glasses for 6 weeks following their surgery.
