Can I switch to a new tray with a missing attachment and how long can I go without it?

Hi, Yesterday one of my attachments (I have 17 in total) fell off when removing my bottom aligners. I called in my orthodontist and the receptionist (can't directly get to the orthodontist) booked me in 2 weeks to get it replaced. I'm still on my first set of aligners and will be switching to my second one tomorrow. Can I still wear the new aligners with an attachment missing and will it affect my treatment time? Thanks

Dear Yondy,Thank you for posting your question on Real Self.  I will do my best to answer your question with the information provided.Going straight to the point, attachments are important.  In general, if one attachment does happen to come off, it's not a severe emergency.  Although, it definitely is important to have it repaired.  Regarding your situation, depending what role the attachment is playing determines whether or not it is important that you have your attachment replaced before you move to the next aligner.  I suggest speaking to the receptionist and kindly letting her know that you are concerned and would prefer to have the doctor look at it or repair it before you move to the next aligner.
