Is Lumigan (in Australia) the same as Latisse? I want to use it for eyelash growth

It looks like Lumigan is promoted as eye drops for glaucoma and Latisse as eyelash applicator for growth. They have the same active ingredient though. Would it be safe to use Lumigan on my eyelash line?

Latisse and Lumigan have the same active ingredient but are not the same. Lumigan contains bimatoprost at a concentration of 0.01 % and is meant as an eye drop to be placed in the eye. Latisse contains bimatoprost at three times the concentration - at 0.03 % and comes with brushes designed for application to the upper eyelid margin.

Lumigan and Latisse are both bimatoprost.  Latisse was developed after it was noted that glaucoma patients had long eyelashes secondary to the use of bimatoprost in the eye for glaucoma.  Latisse is not used in the eye itself however, but only on upper lashes.  It has also been shown to decrease aging around the eyes.  Enjoy your longer lashes and your more youthful eyes.  All the best, Alexis Parker MD
