7 weeks post rhinoplasty, not happy at all! Can I expect a 'dramatic' reduction or is this pretty much near the end result?

I had an open rhinoplasty over 7 weeks ago.My hump was removed and tip reduced.The area where the hump was still has a slight bump.The tip looks as big as it did before.From the half side view my nose looks as big as it did before.There is an improvement in the side profile view.On cast removal I was excessively swollen,my surgeon said he removed almost half of the tip cartilage.Can I expect a 'dramatic' reduction or is this pretty much near the end result.I am so disappointed.

You are still very early in the healing process. What you are describing is totally normal with the tip being more swollen than the rest of the nose. It basically needs to drain against gravity and therefore retains the fluid longer. You will start seeing tip refinements around the 4-6 month mark but you won't have the final product for about a year. Keep the dialogue open with your surgeon and they should be able to walk you through the process. Best of luck

At 7 weeks post open rhinoplasty, swelling is expected.  The swelling may alter the shape of your nose.  I would share my concerns with your surgeon and follow all post-op instructions.  Give it some time before any decisions are made.
