Will KP scar be removed by IPL or chemical peel? (Photos)

Question

Does microdermabrasion n IPL together can help to eliminate KP scar or chemical peel with IPL helps in KP scar removal? I hv event coming up so don't want to take chance going wrong in my decision as I hv just 2 months remaining for the event.

These spots can be improved with a combination of lasers (IPL, Fraxel), Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question soni232. IPL is a great treatment for facial rejuvenation. It can help with discolorations on the skin. For KP I prefer peels, sometimes combined with IPL. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

KP does not scar, so no worries there.
Certainly microdermabrasion for the scaly bumps and IPL for the redness should help and be very safe. So should a cream containing lactic acid or urea, with a topical steroid cream to combat the redness.
KP is not "curable" but can be very well managed. Most cases eventually resolve spontaneously over a period of years.

Hello, KP is certainly a frustrating skin condition as it often effects the arms and, strangely, the buttock region.  A product by Glytone, called "the KP Kit" contains an exfoliant, a special lotion and a nylon scrubbing fluff that with regular application treats KP very easily.  It is all done in the shower.
