Are some machines stronger than others? meaning less sessions? Is the at home version going to help in between pro sessions? I had plasma pen and will need to get rid of the lingering pink marks
Answer: IPL results--add microneedling/prp This needs an in-person evaluation to determine the appropriate strength of treatment. Keep in mind, it may take a series of treatments. I always combine IPL with microneedling/prp to improve outcomes. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: It is more important to get the right IPL treatment, not just the most powerful. The best IPL devices are those that can be fine tuned to the exact skin condition being treated and also safe and effective for a given skin type. Multiple filters for different wavelengths of light, multiple pulse durations to target specific lesions and wide range of fluence (Joules/cm2) to be able to give a precise and accurate treatments. The best IPL ever made was the Lumenis Vasculight Elite IPL. There are not many of those still in service because they were difficult for poorly trained medispa technitians to use safely. We still use 2 of them every day. The M22 by Lumenis is also a great device, but not as good as the old Vasculight Elite IPL. The, Syneron Elos Plus, Palomar MAX G and the SmoothCool IPLs are also very good

Answer: IPL treatments Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!Thank you for your question and for sharing your photograph alicepat. I understand your concern. An IPL photofacial is an outstanding treatment for facial rejuvenation. It works by using bright light to target and destroy pigment and redness in the skin.It is difficult to make an assessment without a formal exam in the office where I can directly view the skin. However, I hope the information provided here is useful. When considering a given treatment such as IPL, it is more important to find the right provider than look for the best devices. I have used many different devices, and most, if not all, can provide outstanding results. I recommend looking for experience, before and after photographs, and testimonials. If I had a patient who looked like the person in this photograph I would say she may be a candidate for IPL and/or fractional laser treatment. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

Answer: Quality of IPL Treatments Sorry about your experience with plasma pen and hopefully IPL will take care of things for you. There absolutely are differences in the different brands. Some are very low powered with minimal controls for provider to individualized treatments (ie Alma). Others are very high powered (I like Sciton - it also is the only one with research to show slowing of skin aging with their BBL). More important than the device used is the provider doing the treatment - it's like a car and driver. Both are important, but the driver more so. Make sure to seek out a very experienced provider with great recommendations.

Answer: IPL facial, how do you know which machines are stronger? IPL is a great technology for skin rejuvenation without downtime. The strength of the treatment is a decision the experienced physician makes based on your skin type and the particular skin problem that needs to be addressed. IPL is done in sessions 3-4 weeks apart. The average patient needs 5 treatments. Increasing the strength of the treatment just to cut down on the number of sessions is not only inappropriate but can be dangerous to the skin.
