Are some machines stronger than others? meaning less sessions? Is the at home version going to help in between pro sessions? I had plasma pen and will need to get rid of the lingering pink marks

Answer: Quality of IPL Treatments Sorry about your experience with plasma pen and hopefully IPL will take care of things for you. There absolutely are differences in the different brands. Some are very low powered with minimal controls for provider to individualized treatments (ie Alma). Others are very high powered (I like Sciton - it also is the only one with research to show slowing of skin aging with their BBL). More important than the device used is the provider doing the treatment - it's like a car and driver. Both are important, but the driver more so. Make sure to seek out a very experienced provider with great recommendations.

Answer: IPL facial, how do you know which machines are stronger? IPL is a great technology for skin rejuvenation without downtime. The strength of the treatment is a decision the experienced physician makes based on your skin type and the particular skin problem that needs to be addressed. IPL is done in sessions 3-4 weeks apart. The average patient needs 5 treatments. Increasing the strength of the treatment just to cut down on the number of sessions is not only inappropriate but can be dangerous to the skin.
