Thanks for your question and I understand your concerns. Fraxel is an excellent skin rejuvenation treatment, but patients often require multiple treatment sessions to achieve the best results. In your case, the amount of time between treatments will depend on the depth of your initial procedure and the results you are hoping to obtain. Three weeks between Fraxel treatments is within guidelines, but if you are concerned, I would check with your provider again about the time between appointments. You can always extend the time a bit if you don’t feel your skin is ready to undergo another procedure quite that soon.
I usually recommend at least 4 weeks between sessions. I always tell my patients that they are still going to see the benefits and changes from 1 session over 3 months post treatment. If it was a very mild fraxel treatment then it may be possible to repeat it in 3 weeks, I would confer with your doctor.Best, Dr P
It’s a bit too frequent. You are not giving your skin enough time to heal. Sometimes you can develop hyperpigmentation from using it too often. The best interval is 4 weeks. Fraxel involves 2 - 4 weeks of downtime.
Typically, Fraxel 1550mm treatments are performed every 3 - 6 weeks. Healing from each treatment occurs over 3 - 4 days and remodeling off tissues continues over several weeks.
Depending on which type of Fraxel you have three weeks may be just enough time in between treatments. It really depends on which Fraxel treatment you had and what your skin type is and how much time was needed in between treatments. In general I wait four weeks in between treatments. I would definitely consult with an expert in Fraxel for the best cosmetic results. Best, Dr. Green
This is dependent on your skin type, settings, and recovery. If type 4-6, I wait longer, like 6-8 weeks. If you had a light treatment and only 1927, then it probably is ok. If your recovery and peeling was longer than normal (>5 days), then I'd make it longer too. Also, if it was done on anything but the face, it needs 6 weeks at least between treatments.
Hi! There are different types of Fraxel. But regardless, the recommended wait time between sessions is typicallt 4-6 weeks. More specifically, if the “Fraxel” was set to target wrinkles then I would wait 6-8 weeks, to allow new collagen growth. If it was for brown spots then 4 weeks would be sufficient (although the downtime is truly 10 days, which doesn’t give you much of a break!!).
The main reason to avoid exercising for a period of time post-procedure is to reduce swelling and avoid the irritation and itchiness caused by sweating. Follow your doctor’s post-procedure instructions for best results.
Peeling is normal for some patients following Fraxel treatment. As the skin heals, some skin will naturally slough off. Don't pick it! Also, don't use any sort of exfoliating product either. Peeling the skin away yourself may cause scarring or discoloration. Instead, be gentle with...
It’s best to use the cleanser your doctor recommends post-treatment and follow their post-procedure instructions. The cleanser should be gentle and not irritate treated skin. Additionally, I recommend applying sun protection afterward. Please contact your doctor.
It can take several weeks for laser results to settle. I recommend following up with your Doctor about after care. We use a specific protocol of exfoliation, hydration, and moisturizing along with protection after laser treatments. PDT therapy can calm any inflammation. I always combine lasers w...
This can happen after Fraxel especially in patients who are prone to acne. I recommend that you follow up with your dermatologist or facial plastic surgeon so they can give you antibiotics as well as topical medications to treat the redness and severe breakout. Best of...
It can take a few weeks for your skin to heal after a Fraxel treatment, so what you are experiencing may be normal. That being said, I highly recommend a follow-up with a board certified facial plastic surgeon or dermatologist to ensure that you are healing properly - you may need oral...
