For neck rejuvenation& face lifting, I've seen two doctors who perform Profound RF. One suggested a treatment at 67 degrees for 4 seconds, and the other suggested 68 degrees at 3 seconds. How do these two treatments differ? Is one better than the other?
Answer: Profound Settings PROFOUND RF is FDA approved for lower face and neck tightening and also for treatment of cellulite of the legs. Based on studies, the recommendations are 67 degrees for 3 sec for the "dermal tip" and 67 degrees for 4 sec for the "subcutaneous fat tip". There are no more improvement by changing time or temperature. There may be exceptions. Therefore, our practice will adhere to the recommendations. Technique is important so it is important to goto an experienced practice that has been trained on the device.

Answer: Settings for Profound In my practice we generally use 67 degrees for 4 seconds to treat lower face and neck. There is not a big difference the settings you mention, my experience has been the extra duration does yield a slightly greater effect without any additional down time.

Answer: Profound RF is effective Hi. For the past few years, my Profound RF treatments have been at 67 degrees for 3 seconds with good results. The temperature (67) maintained for the duration (3 sec) has been shown to have optimal generation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid (normal component of skin that provides suppleness). The two settings mentioned do not differ significantly likely enough to make an obvious difference in outcome-their pics are likely very similar. This is an effective treatment modality but depends largely upon your skin's ability to generate collagen. Be sure to inquire about services & products to help maintain results that are offered by each office. Best wishes,

Answer: Profound Settings Mark83: A significant amount of evidence points to optimal results for collagen induction with heating the collagen to 67 degrees Celsius. Increasing the temperature by one degree should not substantially alter the results. Heating at a duration of 3 seconds is standard for the lower face/upper neck. Individuals with thicker skin may benefit from increasing the time to 4 seconds. Ultimately your results are more dependent on the treatment technique of the practitioner vs the subtle setting variations. Be Well
