I recently received Mentor MemoryGel breast implants and want to make a good financial decision. I know it's a personal choice, but is the Enhanced Warranty worth the $200 price? Do many patients need to use it?
Answer: Enhanced warranty Enhanced warranty or insurance is a good idea, especially when you need it and your don't have it. You have spent a lot of money for your implants, and this is additional peace of mind.

Answer: Is the Enhanced Warranty on breast implants worth it? In my opinion it is definitely worth it. Mentor does not charge anything extra for the enhanced warranty to cover a rupture. The $200 is if you would like the enhanced warranty to cover a 10-year period (versus the standard 3-year period which is free) for a capsular contracture, double capsule or late-forming seroma. The chances of you developing capsular contracture are far greater than a rupture and by spending the extra $200 you will not only receive free replacement implants but also up to $3500 to cover the other fees associated with a second surgery. I hope this helps!

Answer: Is the Enhanced Warranty on breast implants worth it? I definitely think the Mentor Enhanced Warranty is something every patient should enroll in. Mentor implants come standard, free of charge with a 10 year warranty (from the date of implant) and up to $3500 of financial assistance for operating room, anesthesia costs, and surgical charges not covered by insurance. The enhanced warranty provides the patient with up to $3,500 financial assistance for up to 10 years in the event the implant or implants were to rupture or if the patient were to develop a capsular contracture (grade 3 or 4). If either were to happen the chances of that occurring with in the first 3 years is significantly less than the chance of it occurring after the 3 years. If either one were to occur the patient is likely to be faced with, at the very minimum the facility and anesthesia fees of surgery. Standard fees for that usually range between $1200-1700 depending in the PS office.
