I hope to undergo rhinoplasty in the near future, but I think I won't be fully satisfied with the results unless I also take care of the horizontal line on my nose. Not sure where it came from (maybe from wiping my nose too hard over the years?), but I'm wondering: (1) Will rhinoplasty can fix it (2) If not, what can correct it? Botox? Other fillers? (3) Should it be fixed before or after rhinoplasty? Thanks for the help!

Answer: "Crease" on nose The "crease" in the nose you are referring to is due to an underlying cartilage deformity (of the lower lateral cartilage). A rhinoplasty operation can address this deformity and correct it while maintaining or even improving you nasal breathing as well as your nasal appearance overall. I would stay away from any injectables (fillers, Botox, etc.) in your nose as they only temporarily camouflage things without addressing the underlying problem. I suggest you see a rhinoplasty specialist for a consultation. Best wishes.

Answer: Crease line on my nose Dear kit-walkerIf you are referring to the raised area on the left side of your nose, that is consistent with cartilage and should be easily corrected at the time of your rhinoplasty. Seek consultation from more than one surgeon and look for experienced surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
