Hi doctors, I was just wondering will the result of using ear cartillage for tip projection in asian rhinoplasty be permanent? Also would the tip begin to droop with time and would the cartillage resorb. Thanks!
Answer: Asian Rhinoplasty? Here's what you need to know Hello, and thank you for your question. Rhinoplasty results should be permanent, but it will depend on the surgical technique used. That said, rhinoplasty is one of the most complex plastic surgery procedures. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with a strong rhinoplasty portfolio. Such experts will have knowledge about the functional and aesthetic elements of the nose while being skilled in the most advanced techniques for achieving your aesthetic goals, specifically for your Asian features. Your surgeon can properly evaluate your nose, recommend the best surgical technique, and ensure the best possible results.

Answer: Asian rhinoplasty A rhinoplasty specialist will be able to comprehensively address the issues you have with your nose. DCF (Diced cartilage fascia) provides permanent results without the risk of warping or resorption, and with a much lower rate of migration, infection, or extrusion than synthetic grafts. Dependent on how much projection you want, rib cartilage may be a better option for you. With a rhinoplasty surgeon experienced in this technique, diced cartilage wrapped in fascia is a consistent, reliable, long-lasting technique for creating dorsal augmentation with excellent results. Results are very surgeon dependent, so choosing the right surgeon is important. Consult with 2-3 of these surgeons in person and determine your comfort level with their approach, demeanor, and before and after results. Good luck @drdonyoo @asianrhinoplasty

Answer: Tip surgery using ear cartilage Thank you for your question. This is Dr. Yoon Sukho, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Korea. The results of nose tip surgery using ear cartilage can be permanent. Many patients experience nose tip sagging after nose surgery. The reasons may vary, but the tip of the nose may sag due to improper management after surgery. It may also depend on the skill of the doctor. As a surgical method to prevent sagging of the tip of the nose, when the tip of the nose is made of cartilage, the nasal cartilage is fixed to the support without tension as much as possible, and the original cartilage must be removed sufficiently. And when the soft tissue connections are well restored, the results can be permanent. We hope that you will visit a doctor who has experience in nose surgery to receive examination and consultation, and find the best surgical method for a successful operation.

Answer: Ear Cartilage Grafts The cartilage grafts (ear or costal cartiage) used in all rhinoplasty operations, not only in Asian rhinoplasty operations, vary according to the technique used, but the ear cartilages that have not undergone any procedure and whose perichondrium is preserved do not resorb, but their resistance may decrease according to the thickness of the cartilage, each cartilage graft used may be resorbed. There is, but it is low. Conditions such as personnel, diabetes, smoking, etc. can increase the resorption of cartilages. Although there are risks, the 2 grafts that can be used most safely are costal and ear cartilage grafts.Cemal Haci, MD, Otorhinolaryngology, Istanbul/Turkey Chatzi Clinic.
